Among patients with low- and intermediate-risk atrial fibrillation receiving anticoagulation and undergoing an invasive procedure, peri-procedural bridging anticoagulation with LMWH did not reduce the incidence of arterial thromboembolism when compared to no bridging, but did increase the risk of major bleeding.
